University Bands

This is for Now. This is for Ever. This is for the Band.

The University Band is composed of deeply committed students who provide the soundtrack to some of our best memories as an Ole Miss Family. Under the Department of Music, the band program seeks to create a musical education and experience like no other. In return, our band members give so much of themselves. Most students provide their own instruments and spend years honing their skills.

The band program serves as a teaching lab for aspiring band directors, and students with different academic majors also participate as band members. In the spring when the marching band is not together, students play in three performing concert bands and one lab band for future teachers.

Today, you can invest in scholarships, instruments, current musical scores and the renovation of the band practice field to enhance band members’ experiences and the meaningful role they play in bringing great beauty and enthusiasm to the life of Ole Miss.

Kneip Band Challenge

William Kneip (BA 16) and Adelyn Spees of Oxford, Mississippi, have been longtime supporters and fans of the Pride of the South Marching Band. If 50 people make a gift to the Band, William and Adelyn will make a gift of $500 to support our student musicians.
