Croft Institute for International Studies

This is for Now. This is for Ever. This is for the Croft Institute. 

The Croft Institute for International Studies brings together outstanding students from Mississippi and beyond to immerse themselves in the intensive study of the languages, cultures, and economies of the world. It trains global citizens prepared for future challenges and raises the profile of the state through global outreach.

Dr. Michael Metcalf led the Croft Institute for International Studies as founding executive director for nine years, from 1998 to 2007. He designed the curriculum for a truly innovative program and created the foundation for its graduates to embark on impactful global careers. 

Dr. Metcalf’s leadership left a strong legacy at the Croft Institute, now in its 25th year, and he recently enhanced it by endowing a new scholarship. The Professor Emeritus Michael F. Metcalf Scholarship will assist rising juniors or seniors at Croft with support to experience the life-changing adventure of studying abroad. The Ole Miss Family can honor Dr. Metcalf’s legacy and empower Croft students with a gift to this scholarship fund today.
