William Magee Institute for Student Wellbeing

This is for Now. This is for Ever. This is for Student Wellbeing.

The William Magee Institute for Student Wellbeing, which includes the William Magee Center for AOD and Wellness Education, conducts research, develops strategies, and implements programming to meet the following goals:

  • Educate students, families, and communities how to develop holistic healthy lifestyles.
  • Intervene if students develop unhealthy lifestyles, including those involving alcohol and other substances.
  • Support students as they recover to holistic health.

Your financial support is critical as we work to meet and build upon the above goals. This year, private funding has helped grow the Institute with the establishment of the Jackie and Fazer Triplett Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Research and the Edward Peacock IV Student Addiction to Recovery Support Fund.

The Triplett Center will focus on finding and testing solutions for students and families and help establish the Institute as a national model for the higher education community.

The Edward Peacock IV Student Addiction to Recovery Support Fund will provide financial assistance to Ole Miss students, allowing them to receive necessary outpatient therapy for drug and/or alcohol addiction.

The William Magee Institute continues to grow thanks in large part to investments made by members of the Ole Miss Family. Your support allows us to care and advocate for our campus community.

Your gift goes further on Giving Day! Several members of the UM community are challenging you to make a difference in the lives of students. Maximize your impact by answering these challenges and helping us unlock critical resources. Your gift - no matter the size - makes a difference.

It’s easy to give! Ole Miss Giving Day accepts Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, and all major credit cards.

Edward Peacock IV Student Support Challenge
Edward (BBA 69, JD 72) and Ann Peacock of Clarksdale, Mississippi, are honoring the memory of their late son by establishing the Edward Peacock IV Student Addiction to Recovery Support Fund. This fund provides financial assistance to Ole Miss students, allowing them to receive necessary outpatient therapy for drug and/or alcohol addiction. The Peacocks are challenging the Ole Miss Family to join them in supporting our students who need outpatient therapy but cannot afford it. For every five people who make a gift to this transformative new fund, the Peacocks will give $10,000.
