College of Liberal Arts
Give to Support the College of Liberal Arts

The College of Liberal Arts plants the foundation for all degrees earned at the University of Mississippi, offering 40 undergraduate degrees, 32 graduate degrees and 50 minor fields of study in disciplines associated with the arts, humanities, natural sciences, mathematics and social sciences.

Today, you can invest in scholarships, programming and faculty to help transform students’ lives, the economy and society. Your support is crucial as we teach students to successfully navigate complexity, diversity, and change, readying them for the widest array of career options.

Points of pride include:

  • The University of Mississippi is ranked as one of the country’s top research universities. College of Liberal Arts faculty are leaders in their fields, including individuals involved in Nobel Prize-winning research, Grammy and Emmy awardees, and a Mississippi Poet Laureate.
  • Our faculty and staff foster a welcoming environment for student learning and success. In fact, our students are consistently acknowledged via national and international awards for their research, scholarship and leadership skills developed here on campus.
  • Our Modern Languages Department is one of two recipients of an Arabic Flagship Program, an esteemed program for undergraduates available only at select universities. The programs are sponsored federally with the purpose of creating a wider and better-qualified pool of U.S. citizens with foreign language and international skills. The Arabic Flagship Program is the second on the Oxford campus, as the university’s Chinese Language Flagship Program was established in 2003.
  • Biochemist Dr. Saumen Chakraborty has received an NIH grant to study a class of enzymes that could lead to significant advances in alternate energy research. And, his research on Alzheimer’s disease was the recent cover story of a top professional journal.

Giving Day is the perfect time to plant a seed and watch it grow! Help the College of Liberal Arts as we dream bigger, work harder and give more. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort.

Please make a gift! Thank you!
