Band members support the Rebels. Show your support for them!
The Pride of the South Band is composed of deeply committed students who thrive while playing music and providing entertainment to Ole Miss family. The band is a perennial favorite and adds spirit and enjoyment to gatherings.
Today, you can invest in scholarships, instruments and renovation of the band practice field to enhance the band members’ experiences and the meaningful role they play in the life of Ole Miss.
As you consider a gift to support the Pride of the South, reflect on the vibrant music and more:
- The Pride of the South Marching Band has been giving outstanding performances in concert and at athletic events since it organized in 1928. In addition to performing at all home and some away football games, the Pride of the South has performed at bowl games and in parades.
- Several “pep bands” are formed out of the marching band and perform for various events. There is also the Ole Miss Basketball Band, which supports both teams at home games and tournaments.
- Band members give so much of themselves. They provide their own instruments (95 percent), spend years honing their skills and devote hours and hours to practice and perform in all kinds of weather.
- The band program serves as a teaching lab for aspiring band directors, and many different academic majors also participate as band members. In the spring when the marching band is not together, there are three performing concert bands and one lab band for future teachers.
Giving Day is the perfect time to plant a seed and watch it grow! Help the Pride of the South Band, as we dream bigger, work harder and give more. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort.
Please make a gift! Thank you!
