The Trent Lott Leadership Institute
Support Public Policy Studies

The Trent Lott Leadership Institute sets its sights high. Our mission is to identify talented young scholars and prepare them for leadership positions in our state and nation.

We fully expect that the names of today’s Ole Miss Public Policy Leadership graduates will resound through the halls of state legislatures, Congress, U.S. embassies and other institutions that serve the public good in future years.

The reasons for supporting the Trent Lott Leadership Institute include:

  • In the last 20 years, the Lott Leadership Institute has 350 graduates who are now serving in leadership positions across the country, making a transformative impact on society.
  • Our program places a heavy emphasis on the ethics of leadership and public service which are essential to catalyzing positive change.
  • We encourage our students to become global citizens – aware of the world and engaged with it – to prepare them for the rapidly changing and ever globalized marketplace. We challenge our students and help them achieve excellence.
  • Studying at the Lott Leadership Institute also means close mentoring relationships with our Public Policy Leadership professors, who share their knowledge and passion about civil service.
  • In addition, we reach out to young people before they enter college through the Lott Program for Pre-College Students, which includes a program for high school students and a separate program for rising ninth graders.
  • Ole Miss students, faculty and community are engaged in thought-provoking conversations and debate through the Lott Leadership Institute Lecture Series.
  • We continue with our Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Leadership degree and work with promising, talented undergraduates to develop global leaders for the future.

Giving Day is the perfect time to plant a seed and watch it grow! Help the Lott Leadership Institute as we dream bigger, work harder and give more. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort.
