Help grow one of the fastest-growing schools on campus!
All things grand and powerful were once small and new. That’s how we view the growth and innovation of the University of Mississippi’s School of Applied Sciences!
Today, you can invest in scholarships, programming and faculty and help prepare students attracted to careers that improve the lives and conditions of people and communities in Mississippi, the region, and the nation.
This is the perfect time for you to support the School of Applied Sciences, where exciting things are happening:
- We have one of the fastest-growing schools, where students engage in programs that foster interdisciplinary, team-based approaches to experiential learning, research and service. For example, a team of Ole Miss students and faculty recently traveled to Belize to learn about the correlation between food insecurity and delinquency.
- A new degree program focuses on gerontology, preparing students for a range of aging-related careers and graduate study. Longer lifespans signal an imminent population shift, with aging-related occupations projected to grow 17 percent through 2024.
- The HILL Language and Literacy Program – part of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders – provides intense language therapy to young children with moderate to severe language disorders. It also provides clinical training for graduate students seeking careers as speech-language pathologists.
- Through a collaborative effort with a campus/community wellness program, faculty in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management have improved healthy vending options on campus and made them more visible to consumers.
Giving Day is the perfect time to plant a seed and watch it grow! Help the School of Applied Sciences, as we dream bigger, work harder and give more. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort.
Please make a gift! Thank you!
